First, some me-business before we get down to Show (because I don’t want to do a whole separate catch-up post).
Item #1: did anybody else catch the rainbow unicorn butt shout out on The Soup? Made me grin.
Item #2: I haven’t got as much new stuff done as I’d like this week, mainly because I’ve been making a little headway on my BB! Yay!!! (thanks

It took me a couple of minutes to figure out where that devil's trap came from at the end of the episode. Of course the demon was incredulous at getting caught by the same freaking trap he was originally trapped, tortured and exorcised in by Sam and Dean 4 years ago. (I think. I need to rewatch to verify if it is indeed the same location, but I'm pretty sure.) He may have had a favorite haunt to do all his dirty work in, but going back to the familiar without remembering the most relevant part of his own history was poetic justice. Sam and Dean weren't the only ones who overlooked the obvious trap right in front of them.

I think he meant who was the last one of the current string of murders (that he's pretending he didn't commit).
I'm so glad I'm skipping all previews and avoiding spoilers like the plague - I'm enjoying the season a LOT more that way. I do wish they didn't sometimes give so much away in the "Then" sequences, though.
I thought it was a very good episode - it ranks right up there for me.
So, the son was around 4 years ago?
No, the son was recently - after Jeffrey got out of the institution and was trying to get the demon back. Nora sent him care packages when he was in, but he never responded. She went to see him and he told her that he wanted the demon back; she told him to go back and get more help. He called her and put her son on the phone; she gave him a summoning ritual. The ritual didn't work; he sent her her son's ear ( ... )

Aw, doggie, no. They knew they were pushing it with killing a dog because while humans die in all sorts of nasty ways right on camera, the dog's death had to take place off camera.
Lucifer is so much fun when he's just fucking with Sam, but at the end, aw, Sammy, don't just let Dean sleep. Come on.
The devil's trap on the ceiling? I have no real explanation. I can't believe Sam and Ms. Havelock could had time to put it there or could have without anyone being the wiser. Nah ... that part doesn't make sense to me.
It was a good lead up to Sam losing it -- especially Dean's discussion with Jeffrey about never telling the truth, etc. -- makes me wonder what's going to happen with Sam exactly.
Overall liked it. Had a good beat, I could dance to it. (showing just how old I am and you are if you got that ref)

I noticed the same thing. His bio on the IMDb says he's from Tennessee, so my guess is trying to disguise the Southern accent. Interestingly, he's also had a role (in a movie, I think it was) where his character was named Dean Forrester. :)
I LOOOOOOVED seeing Dean wearing the amulet. Oh, my heart.
It was a really great episode. Lucifer cracked me up, but man, it's not going to be good for Sammy now. :(
The poor dog! She was all cute with her cone of shame. I hate it so much when dogs are killed in movies/TV. It always breaks my heart.
