[There's a long moment of silence before the sound of a page turning can be heard. Only then does a voice come on. That of a boy.]

Why is disease and death feared? These are part of life and always come.

[Another pause before he speaks again.]

We all will fade.

It's because no one wants to lose someone that they care about. When someone is sick it's natural to worry about them and hope that they get better, and when they die people miss them because they care. Even if it's inevitable it's still painful to lose anyone.

I know, but I didn't like the idea of cutting an animal open, even if they had already died.

Uh-huh, I know that it must seem silly but even if I know that they can't feel anything I still feel bad for them.
