It sounds like you do a really good job at all you placements, and you've got a lot of experience from temping. I'm sure you're way more employable than you feel like when you're in a place of anxiety ::heart::
girl you are not crazy at all. as we speak, i am supposed to be working on applying for jobs, myself (lol). it's really hard to go through all that work and finally get something and then have it end and be back at square one. i was talking to some of my fellow first-year teachers about this just this morning- it's really daunting and totally legit to feel anxious and emo-flaily about.
but! just because the system sucks doesn't mean you do! you are full of fabulosity employability and topped with awesomesprinkles! ♥
You are an amazing, intelligent person and all of these experiences are going to inform your writing. Dude, no one could ever have written the screenplay for Office Space without having worked at many, many different offices. Also, writers in general tend to job-hop because--duh!--the jobs they're doing aren't the jobs they're happiest at. Things will work out; you just gotta have faith.
Also (on a separate, unrelated note) ya gotta check your email. I've seriously been trying to get in touch with you for the past two days re: scribe stuff (I think the office people are starting to get slightly worried) and at this point I've tried everything except smoke signals and passenger penguins. Cheeeeeeck your eeeeeeeemail.
Applying for jobs is the WORST. I'm sorry you have to wade into those waters again. Don't beat yourself up about what you haven't done. I do this all the time, more about writing than job applications but it's the same feeling. But it just doesn't help. What does help, I find, is getting into some kind of routine, even if the routine that sounds reasonable--x amount per day or whatever--is not working out and you need something different.
Your coping mechanisms sound just right to me. Very best of luck!
Em, hon, I feel the exact same way. Seriously. I am terrified of leaving school (even though I have essentially graduated) because I cannot imagine anyone under any circumstances hiring me. As far as I'm concerned, I don't see myself having any marketable skills, and even attempting to promote myself as someone who can work? Forget about it. It is stressful, and it is exhausting, and... well, it's not true. But convincing ourselves is not easy (and possibly, in our minds, pointless).
Idk what to tell you, other than I understand, and I disagree with you. You are not unemployable and things will work out. Maybe another counseling appointment would help. If you feel like it's a good idea, I fully encourage you. Ilu bb. ♥
