For years it was Narnia, the Blue Sword/Hero and the Crown and the Dicey's song series. :D OH! And Robin McKinley's beauty and the beast.

oh yeah, the hero and the crown is definitely on the list. and american gods, the dark tower, catch-22, the poisonwood bible, many more. i used to love the dicey's song series too, though 'a solitary blue' was my favorite of the bunch. <3
