American Gods is the book I'd bring with me if I were to be stranded on a deserted island. I swear to god, everytime I re-read it, I find something new (a scene, a sentence, a paragraph!) that I could swear wasn't there before.

So I'm super duper thrilled that there is a fanfic rec for my favoritest book ever. But will I get it even if I'm no Supernatural watcher? I keep meaning to watch that series but never get around to it.

i think so-- i think it'd be harder to enjoy the fic as someone who didn't know american gods than as someone who didn't know supernatural. you won't appreciate sam and dean's banter quite as much for not having seen it on the show, but the premise of the fic depends more on the book anyway. i'm also adventurous, i say give it a shot. XD also the show is brilliant, i've only seen one season but i do love what i've seen to death.
