So one of my females in my sorority tank made a bubble nest. She made it against the filter on the side of the tank. It's huge, I'm not kidding. And whenever the other girls go near it she gets snippity. (She's the alpha of all her sisters so she's always snippity) A friend asked me if I was sure that that one was a girl and not in fact a short

I'm concerned about Charlie. He was always a very active fish, but he's been more sedentary these days. What concerns me most, though, is that, while he used to zero in on the his pellets immediately and attack them with great gusto, lately, it seems like he's having a hard time spotting them

So far my female Betta sorority is doing really well. :) All the girls are getting along and I put in a few more plastic plants (it looks like a jungle now, haha). Thanks for the advice on the snails on my last post. The snails have been great. I got some mystery snails and quaranteened them in a seperate tank for a week and a half before putting

I'm having HUGE difficulty with my Betta. When I first got him, the first illness he received was fin rot. I used the medicine and it went away. I then used Melafix to help grow back his fins. Didn't really work and had to stop treatment. Next, I thought he had Ick, didn't and instead he had a fungal infection. I used the medicine to treat it, didn

Hi guys! I'm new to the comm and I've just started betta keeping. I'm learning the ropes with my 9 female Bettas. :) 7 of them are in a 10 gallon sorority tank. (Don't worry, I did research before buying them and asked the breeder I ordered from to ensure that they were sisters and had been acclimated together. My other two Bettas are in their own

Hey all. My Betta Ripples has a lump on his side near his fin and a bit behind his gills. Could this be some sort of internal parasite or bacterial infection? I'm planning on moving him into a hospital tank, adding aquarium salt, and giving him a dose of Maracyn 2. It looks a bit swollen and Ripples is looking a bit pale. He's not eating and he's

Yesterday, I finally finished my newest aquarium project. I divided my empty twenty-nine gallon tank into three separate sections for my betta fish in order to give them more space and make maintenance easier. After all, it takes less time to do water changes on one tank than it does to do so for separate containers.
Little Sergei is not doing well at all :(. He is swollen and has what I can best describe as a wart on the top of his head. It's very odd. He's having some trouble swimming and rests a lot. He's not huge or pineconed, but I truly fear the worst this time. We made our best guess that this ailment might be bacterial (the odd "wart" is flesh colored
