Well this morning we went to Matt's seminary orientation. It lasted until about 2pm, and (sad to say) was mostly boring. A good deal of it was going over how to use the library's online search functions and their online course supplement stuff, which we had already figured out. OS X comes with a Dictionary/Thesarus Widget. This is nice as it doesn't require an internet connection as it's dictionary is stored locally. I've found that http://www.google.com/mac is a better way of searching for Mac stuff, if you aren't using that already.

If he doesn't like the built in Dictionary, Merriam Webster has a decent one that pronounces words as well: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20686

If he doesn't want to use a Widget (say for example he doesn't want to constantly switch between his other windows and Dashboard), in the Applications folder there is a Dictionary App that everyone forgets about :) The cool thing about it is that unlike it's widget it'll suggest words when you've made a typo.
