Back from Residency

I think I might have actually caught up on enough sleep and rest to trust my brain to function almost normally. Only time will tell, really, but in the meantime I thought I might as well post my list of required texts for this term. I can't wait to see what you have to say about Archangel. I told Sabrina about it, but she said it wasn't the good. I usually go for two negative friend reviews before I give up on a book.

I don't know exactly when I'll get to it, but I'll try to let you know when I've read it and put up my comments over at witty_remarks. I'm reading it as much for content and use of a pseudo-Biblical concept in what would generally be considered secular fiction as for the plot itself, but I'll be paying attention to as much as I can.

There are some people who don't much like Sharon Shinn's writing... I've read a fair amount of her more recent books and enjoyed them quite enough to continue with their various series, but I don't really know what to expect with Archangel. We'll see soon enough, I suppose. :)

No rush, I have great hopes of going through books like mad, but I also have to finish my manuscript, write the essay and create a teaching mod (I'm already breathless).

I'm reorganizing my ljs so that this one is for life postsand linked to everyones day to day journals and wdprescott is all about books I've read and linked to everyone reading journals or review blogs.

But I will add your feed. I didn't know about it or I would have already added to it. I'm so bad at being organized =P. I like my pocket of chaos, haha.

Don't worry... I'm still sorting things out with all my blogs. I found that I rarely sign into my reading journal unless I'm actually posting, so it doesn't do very well for reading that friend page, as some people lock their entries. I have enough pages to check compulsively without adding that one. So I post my reading journals there and I use this one for general LJ commenting (i.e. anything not relating to my reading journals) and to read all my friends' Ljs. But the Wordpress one has become the main source as of late. It's mostly personal and writing stuff, and instances of me feeling particularly witty. Oh, and pictures of my puppy. There are probably more of those than anything else lately. Moving on... I think it's time for me to head to bed.
