Spring Break: failings, accomplishments, the end

Mar 08, 2009 16:37

(1) So Spring Break has come and gone.
I'm still lacking sleep, behind on my schoolwork and even more broke. Fat load of good this break did to me, hah!

(2) I went back to the Biodome yesterday, this time in broad daylight and with my sister. (I would have taken my brother too, but of course he had to go ahead and twist his ankle.) We sweltered in ( Read more... )

gluttony is a sin?, television, fandom: whoverse, montreal...c'est ma ville, faaaaaaail, la famille

admittedly I've only seen very little of Doctor Who and only with atrocious German dubbing but I can't help myself thinking that the show looks kinda cheap and the plot is weird and ... I don't know. people love it though.

That's because the set IS cheap. Admittedly it initially turned me off the show, but once I started watching it felt so much more REAL. Well, as real as a show about time-and-space traveling and aliens and Time Lords can be.

Hee, they actually speak German for a very short moment in the finale. Hee. XD

oh my. when people speak German in English shows usually they a) mumble so bad it takes me some time to realize what language they actually speak or b) they are doing it wrong, grammar and all. I also hate how English speaking people pronunce Latin.

I think the actress actually knows German, because it sounds quite good to my (untrained, un-Germanized) ears:

LOL, whenever I think of Brits + Latin I think of this from Blackadder. LOL. (But yeah, I agree, the pronunciation IS pretty bad!)

Bahahaha. Lack of sleep screws up my skin so much already....thank goodness for makeup!

Well, I haven't really read anything just yet, but I'm sorta of slowly lurking into the fandom. And yep, it's lovely! And a great history lesson, lol! This goes to prove that slash = makes everything easier to learn. ;p

How is it that you are able to eat so much?? *envies*

Have spent this week honing my cooking skillz, may now survive if thrown in house with ingredients and cooking implements. *proud*

I'm not sure what happened in Torchwood... but speaking of which, someone mentioned a CM scenario (may only be funny if you watch both, but anyway): maybe Reid will finally hook up with JJ and in the morning, when she goes to the bathroom, she'll open the medicine cabinet and die under an avalanche of prescription dilaudid tablets... oh wait, that would happen on Torchwood.

I thought Hetalia the show was being postponed until further notice? (But the manga's pretty funny.)

Oh, and if you really lack things to do, check out Shadow Unit, which is like Criminal Minds crossed with X-Files. It's a TV show in text format, so don't get too confused. :P

Is it a lot? I don't find that I eat all that much lately.

HOME COOKING!!!! Awww! You'll lemme taste, right? Btw, I'm not going to China this summer so I'll be dragon-boating FOR SURE. Or, at least for the second half since I've got summer classes that might interfere with the 1st half of the season.

Aaah, Torchwood. It's like Doctor Who met a soap opera and some really, really wacky writers who resort to making Jack "do his thing" whenever they run out of ideas. Heee. Spike shows up in Season 2 (as Capt. John Something, but like we care! It's Spike!)

I have no clue. I've barely put a toe into this fandom...all I can say is that it's pretty damn hilarious, an absolutely briliant concept and that the fan contribution is pretty nice too!

...w.u.t.? A show in text format?

It just sounds yummy, that's all.

Lol, as soon as I refine the recipes. I need to figure out how to make couscous - as there is a leg of lamb in the freezer that has been there for far too long. Ahh, okay! I might be missing the 2nd half depending on whether I remember to apply to this learning-French exchange thing.

Torchwood is such a whore of a show. (I say that with all possible love and brow-raising, obs.)

Alex O'Loughlin and Jason Rathbone are guest-starring in CM (from Moonlight and Twilight, respectively) (and I snerked very hard as soon as I wrote that, because of the synchronicity involved in that).

Hetalia is cute. It's like the snuggly little bunny of fandom.

(I'll explain over kimchi, if I can.)
