I figured that I should go ahead and get this down for posterity, seeing as how I’ve been saying the same thing about our honeymoon nightmare and that’s been (gasp) 12 years ago now.  First off, I think a lot of both my family and Joe’s family had given up on us having kids.  We’re not old or anything- I mean, I’m only 30 and Joe is 34, but the ( Read more... )

Congratulations! I stumbled upon your story while researching MS, Copaxone, and pregnancy. I also have MS and have been taking copaxone for over 7 years. I was wondering how you are doing now, and if you've had any relapses post-partum.
My hub and I are considering pregnancy but as you know there are many concerns, I was hoping you could give me some insight. Thank you. :)
And congrats again on your healthy baby boy! I have two boys already - they grow up fast - enjoy them while they are little! :)

Thanks! All has been going well- I really need to update this site but being a working mother is HARD :) Anyway, I'm breastfeeding, & my MS symptoms appear to be gone for awhile. I had no postpartun issues. I had an MRI a few weeks ago, and they said that I had no active lesions, plus the one that had been active had shrunk. My plan is to get back on the Copaxone as soon as I stop breastfeeding. Hopefully all will go well :) I felt great during my pregnancy. Feel free to ask me anything- I'm happy to help :)

PS - I should have mentioned that I had my first two children before I was diagnosed so I was not on any medication at the time. So that is why I am so cautious/nervous about it. Any advice or insight you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

I stayed on the Copaxone for the first 2 months of my pregnancy, but then I just decided to stop taking it since I felt so great. My OB said it was ok to stay on, since it was a class B, but ny neuro said to stop. My baby is 3 months old and doing just fine so far :)

Hi,
Thank you so much for your response. I'm glad that you and your baby are both doing well. We still haven't decided what to do (still nervous!) but reading your story has certainly helped ease some of my concerns. That is a great pic of your boy, it is such a cute age. Enjoy it... time goes by in the blink of an eye! I bet he had a fun first Halloween! Thank you for your help and for sharing your story. I will be sure to let you know if I do become pregnant. Thanks again!
