I know at least a couple of people have referenced this news item.

Supposedly humans can't transmit virii to cats. But who knows about H1N1 anyway? This could be total coincidence [yes, isee4dimensions, I know what you think about coincidence], but consider the facts ( Read more... )

When my sister and her daughter had the flu last month (October) she was told by her doctor that seasonal flu will not arrive until this month (November) and that everyone who had the flu that early had swine flu. If that is also the case on the West Coast then what you read in the local paper is probably true.

For a virus to be transmitted from a human to a cat it would have to mutate into a feline form. It's unlikely, but stranger things have happened. From your description of his symptoms it's more likely that Marley had a feline form of the common cold.

I've noticed Sasson frequently wheezes and occasionally sneezes, but our veterinarian says it's nothing to worry about. My guess is that Sasson is mildly asthmatic.

At least one news outlet (http://www.cbs12.com/news/cat-4722354-iowa-pet.html) is reported a cat and two ferrets with swine flu. The vet in the article is surprised about the cat, but I've been told that ferrets and humans can give each other the flu. I suppose this is more of a concern for me than you, since I have ferrets, not cats.
