I didn't want you to post the chapter of Spider's Web to silence. I actually read it probably seconds after you'd posted it (I'd been checking to see if you'd get something up on the weekend, and I got to it before you made this post). I enjoyed it greatly and am sitting around waiting eagerly for more, but I didn't have a whole lot to say, because this is a chapter on its way to somewhere, more setting up the situation to come than actually a big reveal.

The scene is being set.

I'm intrigued. Concerned about Jacob in a well-this-is-an-early-season-so-if-she-kills-him-he'll-be-back sort of way. Wondering how the trader people will fit in.

Btw, nice to see West Africa coming into it. Africa (excepting Egypt) and South America have been given very short shrift by the show, which had, in general, a case of Western Cultural Blindness. Not that I don't myself, having been raised on a solid diet of Dead White Males, but at least I know my blind spots.
