Sick At Heart

Over this past weekend, our neighbor, who was diabetic, slid into a coma and died.  His body was found yesterday.

When I found out, I asked about his dog, a sweet old Bassett hound named Stetson.  I was told that 'the dog's been taken care of - someone took him'.  Something about the answer bothered me - maybe the vagueness, maybe the way the ( Read more... )

That's pretty awful. Poor Stetson.

I guess I always assumed that my family would value my pets as they would my children, and would take care of them.

I'm going to do some pre-planning, and get stuff set up ahead of time with my family and friends. For, y'know, just in case.

Thank you for the reminder. I wish this lesson hadn't come at the expense of Stetson's life.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It is appalling to me. You did what you could, too bad his family didn't.
