Chestnuts roasting

I have to admit that I was surprised at what a roasted chestnut really is like.  Why did I think they would be like crunchy, toasty hazelnuts?  I won't say gross, but definitely unexpected.

Roasted chestnuts are definitely hard to describe. Next you should try marron glace', over some ice cream. :D

Yeah, I gotta say, I don't really associate good things with roasted chestnuts. I remember one year, my mom tried to raost them in the oven, but they ended up burning, and since then, no can do.
