[ The video feed clicks on to an incredibly awkward angle of somebody trying to hold the camera over his back to show the dark grayblue wings attached to his shoulder blades. [Alexis hadn't been sleeping, plagued again by a sleepless night which, at least, kept certain dreams at bay. When she felt the tug beneath her cotton nightgown, she though it mere discomfort, until something white fluttered in the edges of her vision. Looking in the mirror she gasps at the sails sprung full from her back, like wings.]

[She rushes to her book, only to find yet another pair before the image vanishes. Holding the book so it catches the full spread of canvas behind her, she looks out with an expression of utter confusion.]

I don't know, but you're not the only one to whom it happen. Is it a sort of dream?

Perhaps if we simply closed our eyes we would awake and they would vanish?

[She does so, and to no avail. The hand not holding the book reaches to trace along the fabric, and she looks back as if to confirm her guess is not as wild as it seems.]

They're - they're sails. But how can one have a sail growing from one's back? Am I turning into a ship? And you a bird?

[Alexis rather frantically presses fingers to her face, to be certain there is flesh there rather than a figurehead.] I seem to not be made of wood yet, and - well, do you have anything besides the wings? Such as a beak, or claws?

Then - oh, I am going to try and find a way to lie down with these - I feel as if I should pull along a quay - and pray they are gone in the morning. This city simply never ceases, does it?
