Sefton wasn't sure coming out here alone was the best idea. Not only was he self-conscious of his wings all over again, but he remembered what happened the last time he had gotten lost among the twisting streets. He paused, shook his head sharply, then continued on a little faster than before.

For a Sunday afternoon, the weather was surprisingly not too bad. Better than the heatwave before. It meant Sefton could actually breathe in his own, air conditionerless house.

He slowed once he reached the area where the shop had been last time, glancing around. Where had it-oh, there. Right. He pushed open the door somewhat awkwardly, around the bag of oranges and lemons, and another bag of a few fish. The price of food wasn't within ridiculous ranges anymore, and Sefton figured it would be cheaper to buy the food than pay Kailani directly.

Once inside, he looked around for the proprietor. "Hey," he greeted when he spotted her.

Kailani had gone from making the clothes to testing them, first using water magic on them and then reverting over to bouncing fireballs off the ones that she mixed up the the spell on. Her disguise is off, showing off her fishy self since it tends to mess her up when casting. She stops when she hears the door open and grins when she notices who arrived, even more when she noticed his wings.

"Pineapple," she greets happily, gesturing for him to sit on a small wooden chair by the counter, where eight kittens sit staring at him hungrily. "Don't mind them, they're just hungry. So, guess you're wantin' me to take a look at those wings to see if I can remove 'em or just hide 'em."

Sefton simply stared while she flung magic around like it was nothing. When had this become even somewhat normal to him? ... probably around the same time he had been kidnapped by aliens. Heaving a quiet sigh to himself, he ignored the nickname and simply nodded to her question. Then, he turned his attention to the chair of cats. Instead of sitting as instructed, he placed himself against the counter and made sure to keep some distance between himself and the nest of felines.

Actually... wasn't there something weird about that? He gave Kailani a glance, eyebrows raised, while he set the bags on the counter. "Don't think they're gonna eat you anymore?"

"Oh, them? We've had words, y'see. Plus all of them don't try t'eat me since I saved 'em from the undead that swarmed the hostel." Walking over to him, she peers at the wings for a moment before pulling out a pair of glasses and putting them on, studying the wings and poking the air around them. "Okay, you've got strong magic on your wings. Don't think I can remove 'em, yeah, but I can hide 'em for you."

Sefton pulled his wings in against his back at her poking, but tried to hold himself still. "Hide 'em how?" he asked, trying to not sound disappointed that they couldn't be gotten rid of entirely.

"Well," she begins as she steps back, keeping the glasses on as she looks at him, "I know of a few different ways to hide things. Think since you can't do magic, I'll have to do what I do for my husband when we have to make him look sealtuan. Attach a spell to the wings to make 'em disappear and connect that to an item like a bracelet or a necklace in case you want to switch between havin' 'em or not."

"So, it'd be like... a switch? Turning 'em on or off?" he asked, trying to put that into his own terms while imagining what she meant. He could do switches; he had a few mental ones already.

"That's right, although it'll be more like a button. Tap it and you wings can go away or reappear." She gestures with her hands, making her fingers open and close like wings. "Anything you'd like as the item to attach it to?"

Sefton considered that, then gave a one-shouldered shrug. "You said you could put it on a bracelet, right?"

"Yep, it'd be easy enough to do that. Especially if I could put a crystal on it. That'll extend the lifetime of the spell to years."

"A crystal?" he asked warily, wondering how much more that would cost him.

Kailani nods before she hops up onto the counter and leans over to pick up a blue crystal to show him. It's roughly the size of a watch face and she holds it out to show him. "Part of the reason my price is higher. I can put more magic into crystals and gemstones so spells last longer, plus it's a good back up plan for magic users."

Sefton looked at the crystal, not sure whether he should be impressed by it or not. "How much higher?"

Kailani points to the fish and citrus Sefton brought her. "That's higher priced than the clothes, yeah? Besides, Pineapple gets a discount."

He merely gave an acquiescing tilt of the head. Then, a startled look. "Discount?"

She nods firmly. "Yeah, it's mighty expensive, my magic, since there's a guy who has his own magic shop here. You and the rest of th'kids from th'boss' hostel get a discount 'cause y'guys had t'deal with me."
