In their room, in Washington, Alice sits up as Jasper reads. She watches him for a long moment before turning her head away.

"Do you want to see the tape, Jazz?"

Jasper closes his book with a frown, toying for a moment with the curled edges of its aged cover. He hasn't been paying much attention to the story anyway; his wife taking precedence in his thoughts. He's been awaiting the question.

"Do you want me to watch it?"

"If you want to see it. I mean, maybe you'll see something I didn't."

She doubts it. She's committed it to memory. It won't leave her thoughts. Her fingers pick at the comforter on their bed, chewing on her lip.

"But after, if you do watch it, either way." She stumbles over her words, brow furrowed. "I need you to destroy it."

He sets the book aside to twist his body towards hers. He understands her wanting to destroy it, but: "Getting rid of it won't erase it."

Which she knows and he can trace the wrinkle in her brow its created.

"It's a start," She murmurs, turning back to look at him. Her gold eyes are dull, still so caught up in the what ifs of everything.

"I just need...the physical evidence gone, I think."
