One of the most haunting and vivid images left with me at the end of Order of the Phoenix is the arch with the veil; ancient magic, carefully guarded and studied. Also, I keep coming back to that locked door in the Department of Mysteries. In Half-Blood Prince, I get another image of ancient magic predating any interference of Tom Riddle, what

Yes, this makes great sense, all of it. I do wonder now if Book 7 will follow even slightly along these lines. It's a great way to resolve several things at once, and explains the "love" emphasis at the end of Book 5 perfectly. Also makes sense with showing Harry being sympathetic to an enemy in Book 6 (Draco/bathroom).
You do realise you're making it all the more painful to wait the remaining 9 days?

I just think that Harry's one of the few that can show sympathy to an enemy, even if it makes him uncomfortable and he has to immediately backtrack - he's all impulse and the impulse is there. And with all the 'love being the key' messages that keep repeating, there has to be something to that. I'll be delighted if any of this shows up in 7 - not holding up hopes, but it's not completely illogical.
As for the more painful wait, well, glad to live and serve. You can distract yourself with the movie - picking that apart can serve to while away the time! ;D By the way, what brought you here?

This is the LJ account I use for RL and keeping in touch with people, more. My other LJ is really just for publishing my various fics, really.
Feel free to friend this journal, if you'd like to get to know me better on a RL rather than fic basis.
And I'll just say here that I was not even that interested in reading DH, really, because I'm so upset that it's the last book and the end of an era and all that, plus I'm terrified of who might die, on a number of levels. But your essay there really sparked my interest and made me want to read it asap instead of just when I got around to it. So, not sure whether to thank you or be annoyed.... LOL.
