modern writers make things look so expensive. you don't need a macbook, indie music & a frapuccino ;from starbucks to write. you should be able to write in an empty notebook in a room with one dim light :) so don't worry, this isn't going to change much. your lecturers will understand! & maybe you can save up or take something our from your earnings if you really need one - look at secondhand laptops, old stuff from friends or a cheap repair store :) there's always a solution.

eek! you're doing a WRITING major? mega jealous. i want details :) i wish i could do something like that. you deserve it, you're reallyreally talented.

thanks for the encouagement :) We tried a few shops around town first, but then last night I caved; I applied and got approved for a mac credit card, and bought a macbook pro on there. :D I hope I just made a smart decison, but it's same-as-cash finacing for 365 days so...just $1100 I've got to get all paid off by then.

and yeah! I did English in my undergrad, and am doing a Creative Writing MFA starting in oh...six days? Thanks so much ♥ You my dear would do exceedingly well in a writing program. The process wasn't too bad - standard tests and a writing portfolio of at least 30 pages and 2 recommendation letters; I'm just happy I got in somewhere. Between two classes, I've got 17 novels to read :O Don't worry, the flist will be much informed of all happenings :)
