Warner Bros have kindly let Peter Jackson post a six-minute excerpt of the Live Event they did to preview The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, to give anyone who missed it a sense of what it was like.

I am so psyched and I can't wait to see Legolas and Thranduil together!

But when I saw those pictures of how Mirkwood is going to look in the movie, it broke my heart to see the Forest looking so sickly and to know that is Legolas' home. :(

I didn't read the books so I don't know how the forest of Mirkwood must be like...is it different from the movie?

No, it is not different from the movie. This is exactly how Mirkwood is in the book. The dark powers is taking over the Forest and because of this, it is dying and it is also bringing out the spiders. Mirkwood was once called the Great Greenwood.

I just finished reading the Hobbit and I can't wait to see it on the big screen.
