I was rather awful at keeping my iconning resolutions last year, I think. I still believe that the amount of time I spend talking about icons outweighs the amount of time I spend working on improving which is what I vowed not to do this year. I did start an icon progression post, but I never finished it. So a fail in that category as well. I never gave up my precious light blobs, but I did evolve in terms of how I choose to work with them. So points for effort there? I did manage to cut out the majority of the straightforward complexity of my icons, but I actually think that limited me somehow. Not the best resolution after all. And I did a lot less work for icon contests as well, but that lowered the amount of icons I actually made so I don't know if that was for the best either. :-/
Oh well, time to think of the future in 2013!
RESOLUTIONS: - Get active in contests again especially The Icon Quest. And, note to self, this doesn't mean modding them!!- Modding to do lists are the to do thing

Ooh do a progression post please, I want to see one! :D And yes, please embrace your weird because it's pretty much just awesome-weird always. Also TEXTURES WHY HAVE I NOT SEEN THESE *grabby hands* CS5 might make it a bit easier for you to cut things out, too. :) Good luck in 2013! ♥ ♥
YOU JUST SAY THAT BECAUSE, LIKE MY TEXTURES, I HIDE AWAY THE TRULY WEIRD ICONS SO THEY NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. They are, in reality, monsters that would burn your eyes. IT IS KNOWN.
For 2013: • Continue participating in icontests and battles but don't sign up for so much that it's overwhelming. • Get through all the challenges at theiconquest at least once. • Make and post textures. • Comment in other people's posts and respond to comments in my icon posts. • Some tutorials maybe? And a request post? • Keep pushing yourself. Be braver. Try more with text, complexity, and different techniques/coloring/etc. • Don't get so obsessed with one fandom that you get burnt out on the subject. • Be more social. I feel really disconnected from the icon fandom and it makes me feel sad/lonely. • Post icon posts regularly.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes it when more makers come to the social side of the fandom. :) I do hope to see you around in talk posts and memes and such in 2013!
→ Participate in more 20in20s. → Enter more challenges, rumbles, and battles. In other words, I want to play more with other makers and not just icon by myself in a corner. → Try more with blending and complex composition. → Use text more often. → Icon more animanga. → Make praise posts. → Comment more/be more social. → Save every psd from icons I make so that I can remember how I made them in the future. → Make more textures. → Improve my coloring. → Icon more!
I LOVE the texture set of yours I have, so if you ever need someone to motivate you to make more... ;) Ditto with the being social - you seem like a really cool person whenever I run across your comments!
Sometimes I forget I made that pack omg. Yeah I have some light textures I made that I use from time to time but I don't know if they'd be useful to anyone. Personally I appreciate light textures and adore them but I know a lot of people can make their own light blobs and gradients so I'm a bit hesitant on whether or not they'd be really useful to anyone but me. I may post them when I have made enough. Aw thanks I never knew my first and only pack was useful, haha. I'll come to you for sure!
Aw thanks. Every time I see you commenting around you're being so supportive and awesome!
Well, everyone can make light blobs and gradients, but I definitely use pre-created ones a lot because textures are so much easier! And I bet tons of other people out there agree.
Last year's resolutions → Make icons that aren't for contests Urm....I might have made one or two. Maybe. Last week. [f a i l] → Push myself more with coloring, compositions, techniques Coloring: definitely; compositions: I am pretty sure yes even if I default to simpler things; techniques: I have discovered some new things I like to do in PS for sure! [p a s s] → Stop making icons with the same process every time. Icons deserve different techniques because all caps are different. Done and done! [p a s s] → Find more awesome makers to follow. Yes, thanks to anon_icon, IQ, and praise posts! [p a s s] → Do icon battles. I half-planned that I was going to do one with someone once; does that count? [f a i l]
This year's resolutions → Make at least one post every month. Even if it's small and a little pathetic. → Do more for the community. Praise posts, commenting (non-anonly), talk posts (maybe...), making resources, etc. → Push myself in a different direction with each batch. Or at least in one or two icons of each batch. → Be bold.

YES. BATTLES!! You should do a battle with me, for instance. Put me at the top of your list!! WE CAN DO A DEATH NOTE BATTLE, CARYN. CARYN. WE CAN DO THAT. That'll kick two of your resolutions in the face, right? Please, let's do this! :D
YES WE SHOULD I think at one point we talked about doing another battle of awesome things too didn't we? And Death Note is awesome, so it fits right in? Or something? but if you do a battle with me you have to be prepared for me to be realllllly slow because I will probably lose all my inspiration right as we start it just because that's how my life works sometimes. XD
