I went for something painted. (I had no choice... ;) the source images from that show are LQ youtube videos, so the quality is atrocious.)

Stunning! I love the added fake background in the first icon, love the coloring and text work in the second icon, and the warm coloring and painted coloring in the hair in the third icon!
