Forty years ago today, the Master first showed up in Doctor Who. Not a character /called/ 'the Master', but about as Time Lord as a cheese wheel, stuck in the center of the Land of Fiction,* or a character who essentially performed the same plot functions as the Master but was not explicit named as such--none of that shit. The honest to god Master rolled up on January second in the form of Roger Delgado in 'Terror of the Autons' and proceeded to register dissatisfaction with Britain's standard of circus entertainments with a vengeance. We may never know (unless we get him drunk and ask (I do not even think you have to get him drunk, probably Looking Like Jo Grant and Being In Earshot will do it***)) what he came for (probably alimony, tbh), but bless him if he hasn't squirmed his weaselly way into our hearts and minds. The last with the help of highly illegal psychic-control aids, bless.
To celebrate his entry into (paltry human) middle age, have a PARTY POST! ALL THIS WEEK, please post sketches, gifs, drabbles, thoughts, discussiony-bits, etc. Range wide and free, anything goes, but if you want prompted in your fanwork creations, have some--

NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT we're having a Thraco-style food-inclusive watchalong. Details forthcoming!
* Not to be confused with a very... vexing dream Two had soon after about the Master of the Land of Friction.**
** Two probably says 'oh my' during sex. Man I hope so. That's too good not to be true.
*** Probably at this point even silly Colonel Trenchard has heard *all about* the Master's 'difficult wife'.****
**** Bonus points for fic in which Trenchard alludes to the Troubles that poor beleaguered man has gone through to Three, and Three is Not Amused that, due to period conventions, he's sacrificed his masculinity in the telling. Also the fact that there was a telling to begin with.
