Backdated to after Allen's bday party

[What kind of dreams does Allen have when he's reliving a memory after drinking someone's blood? Well, certainly not this kind usually. When Allen "awakens" in the dream world, he'll understand- he'll know that this is a dream. A memory. That his body is sound asleep back in the room he shares with Lavi and his twin. But here- this place. It ( Read more... )

[Whether or not Lavi is back there, asleep with him in that room, Allen can't quite remember when he "wakes up". But he can hear his heart as a tiny noise in the background, beating away the same as it ever has. White noise in the back of his mind, perhaps. But he moves to stand from his spot on the ground, looking the place over. The fact that he was so lucid for a dream was alarming; he never had dreams with this much freedom.

Needless to say, seeing the Apprentice in a dream like this just adds to the overall weirdness of it.]

It's hard not to humor him... Why are you here?

It's not, actually. Just two very simple letters- n and o. Surely, you've come across them in your alphabet book by now. Or did you get all tripped up over the first three letters? They can be terribly tricky.

[Despite his words, there is just the hint of a smirk on the Apprentice's features. Uncomfortable, Allen? Oh, he hopes so. This whole mess will be incredibly worth it if he can give Allen one more reason to think that Lavi is hopeless. And finite]

You drank his blood, hence you're here for a memory, correct? [A slightly wider smile, this one with a little hint of pride mixed in] And if your dealing with memories, then you're dealing with me. It's what I do.

I didn't have trouble until I hit x. [He lifts a hand, waving it dismissively. See, now he's humoring the Apprentice too.

Uncomfortable would be a very accurate way to put things, yes. He's had enough - one, really, maybe two depending on what you called that situation with Whitey, and three if you counted the combined dream with Lavi.. - bad run ins with dream-scapes to not like this one bit. But for all his griping and groaning and complaining, the Apprentice was - on his own - relatively harmless. He didn't scare Allen.]

It seems that way... [Though he wonders - this wouldn't open his own head up to the Apprentice, would it? Would it open Lavi's to the 14th? ...He hoped not. Though it was a nice change in a way, seeing the Apprentice smile with something other than smugness or contempt behind it.] It doesn't usually work like this, though.

But of course. You're dealing with the memories of a fractured soul. It's going to be anything but normal.

[The Apprentice slides off the glass coffin, brushing invisible dust off the hem of his shirt sleeve before beckoning Allen with one hand]

Come. This is for you.

[And why yes. He does mean the coffin]
