I'm supposed to be winging my way to ORC right now, but instead I'm home with a sick kitty. Lucy is 16 and has been steadily losing weight and barely eating anything for weeks. She's on medicine for hyperthyroid, but just this morning it occurred to me that she could also have a blockage because she couldn't digest the Pill Pockets I tried last ( Read more... )

Does this mean you're not able to go at all to ORC or will you go later, depending on kitty health?

Thanks for the good thoughts and the hugs - I need them right now. I'm hoping to still go to ORC, but all bets are off until I hear what the vet says.

Let me know if you need me to do anything -- I can come sit with her while you go to LA or come give her meds or whatever.

Poor Lucy! Fingers crossed that you get some good news at the vet.

Thanks! What a generous offer. I've got Carol and a petsitter lined up, and the sitter does meds and injections. I'll see what else needs to be done before I decide whether to go to LA or not.

As the senior cats in our lives age, it's one scary thing after another. Hope everything turns out ok and she's better soon. And that you still can make it to ORC, too. *saying prayers for Miss Lucy because my God loves cats, too*

This is the first big scare, but it's been a long one and not over yet. Missy Cleo is 14, so between the two of them I'm in for it for a while. Thanks for the prayers - I suspect you've got a pretty good pipeline to the Source.

Thank you! She loves cuddles, and fortunately Cleo is not too jealous that Lucy's been getting all the attention lately.
