This story combines two of my favourite tropes: misunderstanding fics (*waves to scriggle*) and epistolary stories. Had you thrown in a nonfatal illness I would have declared this the best piece of fanfic in existence :-) But since you didn't, you're going to have to accept the slight-less-lofty status of "awesome fic of awesomeness." Because this was. My poor little heart was tied up in knots through large sections of this. I felt so terrible for poor Ray, even when he was being a bit of a jerkface. (Witness, Berty. Four years of undergraduate literary study, a year of graduate work, and the best description I can come up with is "jerkface"). Oh, and Fraser! So persistent, so carefully wounded, so full of guarded hope! I loved both of the boys in this, and the IM conversation was done very well. The dialogue felt natural and I liked the note of optimism at the end without consummation. Very cute ( ... )

So, jerkface, eh? Best I could come up with was dork, so I'd say we're evenly ineloquent.
Thanks for the gorgeous feedback. *clutches it in greedy, sticky hands*
And I'll save the the nonfatal illness for another day, shall I? :-)
