This is going to be my last post for MAC week! It's funny because this might be the most popular lipstick finish for MAC but it's my least favorite. It makes sense though because I'm more of a matte lipstick kind of girl. I really need to make one post about all my matte lipsticks. Anyway, these lipsticks have the Cremesheen finish which means it's very creamy with high gloss. Cremesheens usually have good color payoff and lasts for a long time too. I used one today and it survived breakfast (which was pancit and juice). Because it's creamy, us who live in the tropics need to be careful with this as it melts quite easily when it's left in a hot temperature room.
I have the Crosswires and On Hold shades. I never realised how similar these two lipsticks look until I took their photo side by side. Hmmm. I'm bummed. I should have gotten a deeper or a lighter shade instead. Oh well.
I bought Crosswires in Hong Kong where MAC lipsticks are way cheaper than here in Manila. I really liked this color because it's like red, pink and coral had a fight but coral ultimately won. This is what I'm wearing today and it stayed put even after I indulged in a rather heavy breakfast. I know I shouldn't put on lipstick before eating breakfast but the pancit was calling me, ok? I wasn't planning on eating breakfast but yeah, when there's pancit, I'm in. Ok, enough about pancit and more about the lipstick. This color is very bright and opaque. It also doesn't dry my lips. So all in all, this is a good lipstick if you want a bright coral color. Essie Button recently blogged about this so if she approves, it means it's a great color. (I love her, ok?!)
On Hold is the lattest addition to my collection and the one I least like. I dunno when I swatched it at Duty Free, I really liked it but when I went home, it went straight to the farthest area of my lipstick organizer. I rarely use it so it's almost new. This is a raspberry color that has a lot of red to it. I can't really comment on the wear time as I said, I rarely use it but since it has a cremesheen finish, it doesn't dry my lips.

Here are my FOTDs using these lipsticks. I love Crosswires so much, I used it during my entire HK trip. The photo below was taken the day after I bought it. Excuse the espasol face, lighting in our room was wonky.

So that concludes my MAC lipstick week. Again, I didn't buy these lipsticks all at one go. I accumulated them over a number of years. I like MAC because you get value for money. It's not absurdly expensive and you really get what you paid for. The colors are pigmented and have decent wear time. The packaging is also posh and I like the bullet tubes.
Before you buy one, make sure that you do your research first. It's easy to get overwhelmed with the wide selection of products. So, determine the finish that you like and then search about the different shades under that finish. Don't be shy to swatch and swatch and swatch while you're at the store. If you're inclined, you can also ask the SAs to apply it on your lips so you know if the color works for you.
I'm seriously thinking about what color I should try next. I'm set on getting something with a Lustre finish which has a sheer and glossy look. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments!
