I don't know how beauty companies decide what product gets released in which country but here in the Philippines, we don't always get the new releases (I'm looking at you, Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows, Fit me Foundation and Neo Nude lipstick!). So I'm extra happy when the new Revlon Pacific Coast collection hit our shores. I've been asking the Revlon SAs in SM and Watsons if they already have the new Revlon Lip Butter shades for months!
Naturally, when I saw them at the counters this weekend, I already knew what shade I'll be taking home with me.
I bought Juicy Papaya! The other Lip Butter that I have is Macaroon which is a berry-brown shade so this time I wanted to get a lighter color. I read a lot of reviews about Juicy Papaya and some are comparing it to Peach Parfait which I also liked but couldn't get my hands on because it was always sold out.
Looking at the product from the tube might give you the impression that it will give a bright true orange color. But when swatched and applied on the lips, it's sheer but buildable.
The swatch on my hand shows how the color will look like on the lips. Here's a simple face of the day:
Almost bare face with just light concealer, foundation, eyebrow pencil, mascara, blush and the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya. Like with the first batch of Lip Butters, it doesn't last that long on the lips. You have to reapply after two hours. Maybe because the gloss is not too sticky or thick. But for the moisture it gives, I'm ok with that. I haven't checked if this will be a permanent shade but I hope it is because think I found my MLBB (my lips but better) lipstick. I'm excited to use it with darker eye makeup.
