Free Books on Amazon

I've seen several people talking about whether putting a book free on Amazon is a good idea or not. I'm not going to go into the whole KDP Select thing because I very much don't like the exclusivity clause that is involved in it. ...YOU HAVE A SEQUEL??? I am so buying this as soon as I get home from work. If I had a signal on my phone (where my Kindle app is) in the hospital, I'd be DLing this right now. I loved Forgotten Soul!

Aiming to have the next Soul Reader one out in March ... it'll be a freebie short :). Have the fourth one planned out too, just have to kick my arse into gear and write it.

It's terrible when you buy a book and it turns out to be crap; have done that many a time with paperback books. At least with eBooks they usually give you a decent preview, but I have still been downloading the freebies like a mad thing to see if I want to read more of the writers. Sometimes how a writer finishes the story is as important as how they start it.

The worst is the, lets kill half the characters for the hell of it ending - hate that. I think my pathological hatred of that probably comes from reading Fellowship of the Ring when I was about eleven. Never got over that. Like my love of h/c comes straight from seeing Empire Strikes Back at the age of 7 or 8 :).
