LOL - I have been a quiet fan of KtE since it was first on tv here. And it's possible I may have had a strange mental affair with Julian for quite a while. Totally ship Cash/Sasha - one of my few canon ships.
I think it's tragic that Mark died, and there wasn't any more of it. :(
I recently obtained all eight eps, and watched them again after so long. It still stands up reasonably well, all things considered.
I should get the DVDs - my copies aren't very good quality.
The clan politics were very interesting. I think there's amazing cross-over potential. I can readily see a Tru Blood / KtE crossover. I wouldn't be surprised if KtE influenced some of CH's world building for her vampires.
I had a mixed reaction when it went to air - I loved the premise, but hated the character of Frank (*ducks*), so I stopped watching it, and then caught it again one night I was sitting up sick, and got totally hooked on it, but it was only an ep or two from the end. It was ages before I got to see all of it.
You didn't like Frank!!!!???? ;P I can see how he might have been a little annoying, but I love C. Thomas Howell ::g::
I think Tru Blood and KtE might be quite hard to integrate, given that they both have well laid out structure and ones about hiding and the other is about coming out - LOL. Could be fun though :)
Ah, Kindred... Strangely, my favourite characters for this aren't in the TV show. I adore Beckett and Lucita, both of whom are well known characters for the rpg, but never existed in the KtE world. (Hell, since KtE didn't go into the Sabbat, the Lucita's clan, the Lasombra, weren't even mentioned, afair.) Beckett's actually the reason I have the Gangrel clan logo on my shoulder :D
I'd never heard of this show before; thanks for pointing it out. I just ordered the DVDs used at Amazon. Sounds like a great show. To bad it wasn't able to be continued.
Ooh yay, a convert :) I think they had the start of a really good show, it was such a shame it was cancelled and then Mark Frankel died in a motorcycle accident, so there was never any chance of it being taken up again.
I became addicted to vampires way back in the old Barnabas/Dark Shadows days. Even crappy stuff I'll watch/read, just to feed my addiction. But this sounds like an excellent show. I'm looking forward to it, and to reading your story.
I have to admit I tried to get into Dark Shadows and just couldn't , but I think part of that was it was on at the wrong time and I kept missing it.
I've been addicted to vamps since The Lost Boys. There are two films I blame for most of my fic wants, one is the Lost Boys for my vamp obsession and the other if The Empire Strikes Back for my h/c love and my need for a happy ending ::g::
LOL! I never followed the series, nor the game ( I think they stopped playign it when I found the fandom).
But!
But, I was in love with a certain series of stories written based on this universe. It was a crossover between Kindred: The Masquerade and Highlander, written by...a pair of writers whom I can't trace anymore :(((
Have you tried this link: http://embraced.me/ The woman who runs it has been collecting links and tracking down stories and the like. Even my old version of Opposites was on there ::g::

And Cash was very cool. The Romeo and Juliet thing he had going on with Sasha was great.
