Finally got Soph to watch Moon Child :D Not sure what she thought of it since she hasn't really told me yet, but she sat through it, laughed in the right places and did not make scathing comments, so I am hopeful

I remember wanting to watch Moon Child so much but couldn't because there was nowhere to get a hold of it here. And then we got broadband and oooh just downloaded it. My sister and I just sat there watching the gloriousness that is Gackt and Hyde. We even have arunning joke about Gackt's 'Hong Kong' shirt. Now any overly glittery shirt either of us wears is instantly 'Gackt's Hong Kong shirt'. I live that movie, cliche or no cliche ^_^
I ended up buying it from a US site via Amazon - I do like the fact that I can buy region 1 discs really easily now. When I was in Canada on hols I might have squeed a bit when I went into an actualy shop and there is was on the shelf ... not that I needed another copy, but it was there and that was what counted :).
The stretchy, colourful shirt he wears on Moon Child - tight, loud and ugh.
We called it the Hong Kong shirt because a lot of the imported styles from Hong Kong at that time looked like that. And most had some glitter aspect to it (flowers, random swirls, etc). I once had one or two but can't remember where I stuffed it.
I can watch that movie ONLY up through the beach-at-night scene. After that the whole thing goes so far to hell, emotion-wise, that I can't bear to watch like the last half hour of it. It depresses me SO MUCH.
But it's such a brilliant little movie. Hell, I'd watch a film of Gackt, Hyde, and Lee Hom just sitting around watching paint dry. It'd still be the sexiest thing I've ever seen. XD
Yeah, that would be sexy :) I cry every time I watch the movie, but I like that you can reinterpret the end if you want to, since you don't actually see anything.
Well considering they were sitting together in a car and they were both vampires and the sun was coming up, I assume that if they went they went up together :) ... of course we never see it, so they're in the boot or covered in a tarpaulin hiding until the sun goes down as far as I'm concerned ::g::.

Wouldn't it be ironic if it was Gackt's character that died in the end, but not Hyde's? But I suppose he'd commit suicide somehow.

I've seen the names Gackt and Hyde in fanfic pairings before but had no clue where they came from.
*adds to top of Netflix Q*
I'm guessing its not an American film, so I will need to watch it with subtitles?
