Wow, they must have thrown the word "hoax" around at least 8 times. This is getting ridiculous, the mayor, menino, wants to "look tough" on terror and if it means sending two art students to jail for 30 years then I guess he's ok with that.
They think Err and Ignignokt were "smiley faces"? They made it sound like these were insidious "packages" planted discretely throughout the city and that when you touched them, THEN they lit up the middle finger. When they were actually black boards with batteries on the back and an image of a well known cartoon character on the front that lit up. And they were placed in highly visible places. As in the link in my next entry.
I do agree for the most part. Wouldn't it have made sense though, for someone from one TNT company (Cartoon Network) to tell someone in another TNT company (CNN). The whole stupid issue could have been avoided with a little communication. Then ignignokt could have flipped off the planet to his heart's content (or until the batteries ran down).
By the way, where the @#^% did your MySpace go!?!?!
Yeah man, when I heard about this story I was thinking, wow the mayor of Boston is a dumb-douche and he's gonna cost his city too much money... oh well sucks for Boston. But then I heard him trying to play it off like it was a real threat or hoax, to cover up all the incompetence and he demands harsh pentalties and fines for it all. Now he's a super-douche who's really fuckin' dumb. I hope they fight the hell out of this in court and Boston gets some new leadership in there, I mean how come none of the other major cities had this problem with the exact same advertisements? I know we're supposed to report anything suspicious and be super-ultra-freedom destroying-careful, but how, with all the intelligence in the world, could Boston have fucked up this bad?
