From "Oscarbeat" in the LA Times:

The long search for an Oscar host is over, with an official announcement from the academy expected to come early Thursday morning.

For the moment no one at AMPAS or involved with the production will confirm it, but word is that the job of hosting the 78th Academy Awards will go to Jon Stewart, the Emmy-winning ( Read more... )

Well, I was up this past weekend... but I had some stuff to do, obviously. I won't be back up for at least a few weeks. Gas is way expensive.

If you guys would like, you're more than welcome to come to my place. I must tell you, 2 hours is quite a drive... but then again, I can promise beautiful beaches (assuming the weather and high surf tendencies agree with me) and delicious clam chowder.

Of course, it's always easier for me to visit you guys. Which is why I never ask you guys to come down... plus, I'd have peace of mind knowing I was paying for gas rather than you guys :-)

Anyway, I guess we'll see. :-??

I'm sorry, I should be more specific when I comment. :) I was talking specifically about the Oscars.

That being said, I would love to come down and visit you sometime. I don't mean to be all grabby and needy, I just like to let you know that we still think about you and miss you. You're still an important part of our lives and all that. :) *hugs*
