Birthday #1 meme thing

Okay, so furikku posted a meme about looking up the Billboard #1 song on your date of birth. I got Rapture by Blondie, which is neither the best nor the worst possibility for someone my age doing this meme, even with the somewhat ill-advised and rather surreal rap section. The thing with the rap section is that Debbie Harry & Co. were fans of the nascent hip-hop scene in New York City, which was growing up alongside the CBGB's-punk-new-wave scene of Blondie/Television/Talking Heads/Ramones/etc., and while it may seem ill-advised from a modern perspective, at that point, it was an entirely new thing.

(Not as bad as anything I've gotten---the US charts have me being born to Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl" and, IIRC, Shakin' Steven's "Green Door" in the UK. If I was one week earlier, the UK chart would have given me "Ghost Town" by The Specials, which would have been Officially Awesome.)

Yeah, to be fair it's not the usual sort of thing one associates with white performers' ill-advised rap segments. Rather than being I AM THE MOST COOLEST it's one of those bizarre Super Rhymes-esque meandering narratives.
