first, let me say that music for me and my choice* to become a musician was never and will never be about money. I compose and perform music because there is something that drives me to do it. I don't knwo what it is, perhaps the muses, perhaps my own conscience, but whatever it is it's got nothign to do with money. I'd also like to note that I'm ( Read more... )

...all the money. Just because you're not making money doing covers doesn't mean that you're not getting anywhere.
I wouldn't still be here if I didn't believe in you and your music.
Your music and your glowing, passionate soul, are 2 of the main reasons that I love you so much.

I know you need your own bed, your own space.
Let's look at the budget tonight, then set up some ebay auctions for some of the many boxes of clothes I have waiting to be sold.
Also, we should go to Menards/Home Depot, where-ever and check out wood prices again, once you've designed and figured out how much we need.

I think you answered your own question, "This guy is playing predominantly cover tunes."

I've always loved new music, new artists, etc. I use to love MP3.com and now have moved to eMusic.com but I also think I'm in the minority. People like to listen to what everyone else is listening to. This applies to music, TV, books, beer...everything. We are a culture of copycats.

Realize I'm not saying sell out...I'm just giving you my opinion on your question.

p.s. Have you ever looked into selling your music at one of the online music places? I don't know the details, but eMusic.com has tons of independent music.
