Donghae sighed, yet his throat kept making the croacking sound. And it was the umpteenth time in the three and a half minutes. The prince in the mean time, was having a curious feeling in his mouth. His two long front teeth were gritting with the smaller teeth of his lower jaw, as if they were waiting for something to be grind between them.
“Croack.Your Highness.”
“Uhuhmmph?” his answer sounded silly, yet there’s nothing that he could do. Now his little jaw started to move on its own, clashing the teeth and making such an unpleasant noise.
“Will you, croack, stop that? Croack.”
He turned to the little toad on his left, and intentionally clashed his teeth even louder.
“Onlytthhh ifff yoouuhh stopphh thattthh...”
“Croack? Croack. Croack. Croack.”
They stared one another awkwardly, yet kept making the sounds.
To other human, it may only the usual sounds of animals that were surrounding the palace at night, yet when they themselves were the one who produced it, they felt a bit tired for not being able to control their own body as they freely did before.
“Croack. If we keep, croack, sounded like this, croack, it will be hard for us to survive. Croack.”
“Llikeeth I didn'thhh knoouw thattt.”
Kyuhyun looked at the palace main entrance. It was now eight at night, and the palace was having the last mourning ceremony of losing both their king and his son. There were rumours saying that the Crown Prince of the Halle kingdom, was killed in the battle with the country they were having wars with along with his fellow servant, even though they won the battle. And because of too sad to the loss, the King stabbed himself.
Kyuhyun mentally wailed about how cruel the truth can be to his life. In a time he felt like he owned everything, yet in the next timeline of his life, he lost everything.
Almost everyone that present at the ceremony brought a white tulip flower in their hands, and throw them at the moving black horse carriage that carried his beloved father’s body as it passed by them. Kyuhyun’s eyes were stinging, and something glittered from the edge of his eyes. Donghae saw that.
He knew the prince was terribly sad about what happened to his father, to his kingdom, to them. He too, was upset and frustrated about it. Yet he knew, that crying over a spilt milk won't do any good to someone’s luck. They need to find just every possible way to turn themselves back into human, and as a loyal servant to a good prince and his late kind father, Donghae just kept reminding himself, again and again, that he would never lose hope and definitely, not letting the poor prince next to him to feel lost too.
If he wanted to talk about frustration, then Donghae himself got tonnes of them. Including the frustration of not letting the one that he loved for a long time to know about his true feeling. He then lifted his left front leg, and stared blankly at the webbed palm of his, snickering. If Hyukjae saw him in this state, what would he say?
“He probably would laugh and say that I look cute as a toad. Croack.”
***
“Who’s Hyukjae?” I asked the old man Henry when he was nipping a cigar at the edge of his dry lips. He stopped his hand from lighting the match in his hand, and stared on the small piece of wood for a while. I wondered why.
“Hyukjae... like I said before, the story has been trimmed and improvised a lot, too much, that some important people that created the legend were removed.”
He then lifted his head, soften his gaze and looked at my face;
“Hyukjae, as the matter of fact, was an extremely important part of this story.”

The next day, Donghae still didn't stop croacking, and the prince didn't stop gritting his teeth either. And when their stomachs growled, they finally realised that it was hunger that made them sounded so stupid the whole night before.
Donghae finally was able to put some insects in his mouth, and the prince successfully finished a few bunch of veggies into his. And it was a few hours later, while they were hiding and relaxing their full stomach, that they heard a few guards near the garden they were at talked about an order that was made by Heechul, the temporary emperor of the kingdom.
“He said that he was infected by a disease brought by rabbits, and it was a life-threatening one. So now he wants the whole country to catch and kill every possible rabbit they could find.” One of the guard, with a huge built body, and bald head spoke as he munched the end of a match in his mouth.
“Sheesh that gay bitch. Just because he had some red rash on his stomach, he told us kill those innocent animal.”
That was what the guards, and probably the public were thinking about when they heard the order, but only the two animals understood the real intention of it.
“Croack. Your Highness, he wants to kill you.”
“I know. We need to get out of here.”

So they flee out of the castle to make sure that they will survive so that Kyuhyun could return as a human again and kill the witch for everything that he had done. But the path wasn’t easy. It took them almost a day just to reach the exit of the palace, and half of their lifetime avoiding the guard dogs near it.
And since the ridiculous order has been spread around the subject, if it wasn’t for Donghae’s brilliant plan to hide under a horse carriage of a tailor that was assigned to design clothes for Heechul that was about to go to another country nearby.
And maybe it was their luck, that the tailor actually had another business at the palace of the country.

Put the story about the two heroes at halt. Now, shall we enter the next phase of this fairytale?
The kingdom that they arrived, was a peaceful country, that had stopped to encounter with any wars, since the king hate conflicts, and was a wise one. And of course, the princess that was the main focus in the fairytale was his beloved daughter. Actually, the king had three children. A son, a daughter, a son.
Yet, the one that had always been the king’s hope was the princess, since he lost his first prince in a war years before, and his youngest prince was frequently sick, because of his low immune system. Maybe what we called as anemic nowadays.
The princess was a beauty, named Tiffany, and yes, it was true when the old Grimm Brother’s put the golden ball as her favourite plaything. And it was true when they described her as a pampered princess, because she indeed was an arrogant princess. Yet, in front of her father, she had to act good and nice and matured.
She dreamt of marrying a prince from another country, and make sure that her wealth multiplies since she never satisfied with the luxurious life she had. She never thought the subject as her priority, yet she still need to feed and govern them one day in the future, that she never felt at ease about it.
“They’re annoying, and the wealth are not enough for them.”
Her youngest brother however, was a total different persona from her. Even though he wasn’t so strong, and often in bed, he was delicate, and nice to everyone, even to paupers. He possessed every nice thing that his sister didn't have. He spoke of nice things, and often passionate to everything that he had set his aims for, and probably he also had everything that would make a brilliant king in the future.
Yet, he wasn’t chose by his father as the Crown Prince, because of a serious reason.
Even though he was extremely fond of furry animals, especially rabbits, because of the King’s small mistake in the past of killing a family of rabbit inside an enchanted forest, he was cursed that whenever furry and cuddly animals came near him;
He’ll die.
Oh. And the poor prince name was Sungmin. A pale, yet unbelievably beautiful, and kind-hearted prince Sungmin.
