Fic: Trouble is Our Business [The Dan and Blair Show]

The title of this fic is adapted from a Raymond Chandler short story, Trouble is My Business, because Gossip Girl episode titles are always based on other works. In the process of writing this I picked up my copy of The Big Sleep, the second sentence of which is as follows:

I was wearing my powder-blue suit, with dark blue shirt, tie and display

Aww, what an awesome way to make the most of Blair's scheming and Dan's stalking! :) Your Dan and Blair are adorable, and their urban, affluent, kinda twisted world is a perfect setting for the noir detective.

The Big Sleep is one of my favourite movies but I've never read any Chandler. I LOVE the idea of Blair as the elder Sternwood daughter, who would totally lie and scheme to protect Serena the younger Sternwood.

Chandler is a great writer - dodgy fashion choices aside - and really easy to read so I heartily recommend him.

I really like the parallel you've constructed there. You're right, Blair is totally like Vivian and Serena like Carmen.

I would like to write something more serious with this premise so I'll have to think that over.

You have no idea just how DESPERATE I was for PI!Dan and Blair fic, it's my favourite scenario for them, so thank you forever for writing this, I enjoyed it so much.
That was adorable and their banter was perfect, I LOVED the bit about their shared office and "That’s how Blair ends up with a closet solely dedicated to wigs. She works on a Russian accent with Vanya." just killed me. Basically, I just wish you'd write a whole series about Dan and Blair being awesome PIs.

Btw, did you pimp at daretodair already? I have no idea how I missed this for so long!

Thank you! I didn't post it to daretodair because I was just goofing around and it's so short. I would like to write more for them, like maybe they solve a murder on the Subway, but I don't know enough about New York for that. Hopefully in the future something will come to me.

This imho is a lovely homage to all detective movies/shows out there. I liked Dan/Blair's interactions especially and I wished the fic would not end.
