Game of Thrones

I'm not sure how I really feel about Game of Thrones. It's hard to judge it just as a TV series now that I've read so much of the books (somewhere in book three at the moment) and know what has been left out and what has been added. I think it IS different. Now that my reading is ahead of my watching, I think I prefer(red) it the other way round.

I still think they are doing a great job and I'm still very excited about the show, but some scenes (in the book) depend a lot on the character's view and once you imagine how that scene will turn out in the show, it's almost impossible to be "blown away" by it, even if it's still a great scene.

Yeah. Before I started reading I didn't mind all the exposition because I needed it. Now that I'm ahead, it just seems really clunky to me. So even though the episodes are improving I think I enjoyed the earlier ones more. But I can't exactly unread the books to fix the situation!

That's why I'm liking the added material, generally with the Lannisters, because it's completely fresh and I don't have to compare it with the books.
