It seems like a lot of fun, and I'm really looking forward to it, but some of that dialogue seems really expository and kind of awkward. I'm hoping that's just a symptom of it being the first issue, and it'll read better once everything's all set up.
Well, you know. It's the first issue, and presumably not EVERYONE who picks this issue up is a regular reader of Invincible. So, yeah, there's some exposition.
And there's a reason they call him Handsome Getty (because his art is good; I have no idea what he looks like).
Having actually read the issue in its entirety now, I have to say, I really dug it. Yeti's awesome, Brit's voice is spot on, and that whole scene in Samson's mansion was great. I think that was the first time I've actually liked Shapesmith, a character I'd previously found really bland.
