Books from 2013

It was a much better year than last year.  At the end of 2012 I was rather disappointed, but I avoided that this year, partially by getting some more variety I think.  I'll follow Isis' example and bold the outstanding reads and italicize the boring.  I kept track of my short story reading for the first time, but it ended up being a bigger list ( Read more... )

I am waiting for Ace of Skulls to be available over here. I discovered Chris Wooding in the last two months and am in the process of getting all of the Ketty Jay books.

Yes, it's pretty depressing, but it ends on a slightly hopeful note. You might enjoy it, but it probably wouldn't be a top-read for you.

So, what would happen if the Earth had 2 moons? In a nutshell? Very weird tides, I'd guess?

Basically, yeah. At least much stronger than what we have with just the moon, and the consequences from that. Also increased night illumination. The book also says that the two moons would eventually collide and merge, though that may depend more on how Earth got both moons in the first place.
