2012 was a slightly disappointing year of reads for me. Plenty were good, but very few books really blew my socks off. For 2013 I'm going to make an effort to read more non-SFF. We'll see if that helps.
The more I read of Harold Waldrop, the more I enjoy him. I haven't read any KJ Parker yet; I hope to rectify that this year. Hope; whether I will remains to be seen. I have always presumed that Neverwhere, by Gaiman, was better than American Gods, but I am basing that on having seen a BBC show/miniseries of Neverwhere. Any opinion?
I'm loving the Peter Grant books even though I don't know that much about London. The Valente book was good, but I didn't like it as much as her other stuff.
This is impressive! I like your breakdown stats too. :)
I feel the same as you - when I saw the 'three best books you read in 2012' thread on the board it made me realise - nothing really blew my mind last year...
I need to post my list of 2012 books later on. LJ has been refusing to work for me these past couple of days.

Waldrop is always good too. Speaking of which; Isis, I know you like short fiction, and Waldrop is a fantastic short story author.
Haven't read American Gods yet so I can't say.
