Now a few good books

Whispers Under Ground by Ben Aaronovitch.

I sincerely hope most of you are already reading the Peter Grant series.  If not, for shame!  :P

I found the third book in the series to just as good and engrossing as the first two.  Characters and setting were all as compelling as before.  In some ways, the book was much tighter and constrained than Rivers ( Read more... )

I might try the Kop books if I can ever get 'em on Kindle... Never really been attracted by the Ben Aaronovitch books, but that's just a very slight aversion to UF on my part. Should probably download a sample chapter and see...

I thought the Kop books were available on ebook. Perhaps not. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them, and the Aaronovitch, if you do give them a try. :)

I read the first Aaronovitch book and didn't love it as much as I expected to. I really loved how it brought the City of London into the story - that is to me what Urban Fantasy should be. But something about the book was off for me and I didn't connect with it. I'm going to try the next one, however, and see how that works for me.
