I expect that people will use the 100 credit like a price cut on that other Apple item they've been eyeing, or perhaps the newly released Touch iPod! How coincidental that the release is coupled with this stunning rebate!

No one's going to buy the Touch if they already own the iPhone. Most rebates will go towards getting the new Nano for $49 or Leopard upgrade in October.

Mac maniacs will buy every product Apple offers, just to say they have it. Or, they will say they aren't going to get it even though they desperately want it.

For all the bitching people have done about Bill Gates, it feels like Apple is trying to squeeze as much money out of everyone by releasing "upgrades" every few months. As soon as they made a video iPod they could have released it on a Nano to make it affordable to the larger population. They just waited until they sold x amount of the expensive version before they did so, because who's going to buy the 400 dollar version when you can buy a 50 dollar version?
