Man, unstated needs and expectations are the bane of all honest men. Seriously, WTF?

Ok, got that overwith. Yeah, I don't think I've ever had one of those work out, though I've often managed to salvage the friendship. Blech. By rights it should be easy-peasy.

Your college buddy Riana got in touch with me. She apparently thinks that because I'm a 3L I can give her tips about law school. The ony tip I have is to avoid law school. But I'll see if I can get her into croquet, boardgames or swingdancing. No better way to avoid law school than to hang out with the undergrads, right?

Normally I might expect unstated needs and expectations, excepet that in this case it all was preceeded by a lengthy talk on feelings and needs and expectations so that they would not need to be unstated. In all fairness though, feelings are complicated and I understand that she didn't fully understand what she needed until after the moment had passed. I'm not worried about the friendship disintegrating.

Wow, Riana's fast. I left her an LJ comment last night mentioning you. Oh, becuase she asked, I posted your full name and email in a comment to her. You probably don't want that, right? Should I go back and delete it? I should have just emailed it to her.

No worries, delete it now, if you please. Since people generally get emailed comments immediately, if I want to send something private, I usually put it in a comment and then delete the comment immediately. It usually works pretty well.

I've had that happen too--people often don't know what they want up front, even if they think they do. I'm glad the friendship is still ship-shape.

I've been totally impeccable and honest and have done nothing wrong.

Ben, sometimes, you are a FUCKING RETARD.

Would it be too much to ask you to elucidate me? I honestly don't know what you're getting at.
