Log: "Fiancé fiasco" (with Adele and Laurent)

Sep 18, 2008 20:42

Danilo was walking down the campus, on his way to the studio. He had in his mind to develop an old film again--a family photo of the five Lira siblings before he and Diego left for college--and to give them to his brothers and sister who were here. He smiled inwardly at the thought--had it really been seven years since then ( Read more... )

Guy had shown up out of nowhere, and instead of a 'Hi love I'd missed you!' Adèle was met with a complete tantrum over the fact that Laurent was in the university. Granted she had told him there was no way he would be, but she couldn't have known, and with how everything went crazy just after they arrived, she couldn't have contacted him, either.

She had tried to explain, but her fiancé was seemingly unwilling to listen. He'd dragged her out of the computer lab, yelling, attracting everyone's attention, and now he was making sure to tell her what a whore she was for lying to him all this time, and she'd had something with Laurent all along, hadn't she, and he was such a fool for believing her... the list went on.

Adèle had been TRYING to say something, but the more she tried the louder he would yell, and she wasn't sure she wanted the entire art department in on their quarrel. Not that they weren't already...

What's going on here?

Against his usual judgment Dan stepped closer, his eyes growing wide at hearing the words--the insults--that this man was hurling at her. Danilo glanced at Adèle to see her frustrated and scared expression. He recalled the only other time he had seen her with that face--when they had found out that Laurent's life was in danger.

Without another thought, he stepped forward, walking toward them with a casual stride. Tapping on her shoulder, he said, "What's the matter?"

Oh no, Dan. You shouldn't have. You shouldn't have, because now her fiancé thinks you're one of her 'many' (aka nonexistant) affairs. And now he's yelling even more, and Adèle looks even worse.

"Please," she told Dan in a very small voice, "Don't..."

Guy, however, was really quite out of it, and continued to spew out nonsense about her, and for the first time in years Adèle was seriously wondering what she was thinking, becoming engaged to someone who'd be so quick to accuse her of things he had no proof of.

The frown on his face only grew. From the way he talked and accused her of "cheating," he was definitely her fiance. He moved his hand off her shoulder and eyed him properly.

"What was your name again?" Danilo asked, only to receive a hostile answer and finger-pointing.

And he didn't like finger-pointing, especially when it was directed at someone he cared about--someone who didn't do anything wrong.

He gave a short sigh. He could end up regretting this, but well, someone had to make her fiance be quiet. Otherwise, this nonsensical fight could go on forever. The next thing Dan knew, he was pulling arm back and driving his fist into Guy's nose, sending the other man flying back and to the ground.

"Next time you say something, make sure it has some truth in it," Danilo said, giving him a hard look.
