And some point in this future, they encounter the Silence. They then begin a systematic extermination of them for no apparent reason. The Silence can't run. Wherever they go, they encounter humans, and humans always react violently to them, no matter what.
MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. You're right - it fits perfectly with established themes, and honestly, if it doesn't turn out to be where this is all headed, I'll be a bit disappointed. It just works so well.

i could see this as being true because of one or more of these potential reasons:
1. living with the crack in the wall for most of her life.
2. the fact that she has some sort of loose permanent link due to the strange nature of her pregnancy.
3. something that i shouldn't mention if you haven't seen The Almost People yet.
