I'm more convinced he's a bad captain because he can't seem to comprehend that other people think differently than he does. "They won't agree! THEY MUST BE EVIL!!!!!"

Well I just watched This Side of Paradise, and while it's kind of true that if we're happy with what we've got we don't strive for more, but Kirk was just always like "I don't understand why they're all happy! Why are they happy? We must stop it at all costs!!!"
