I mean, I can accept that that is a powerful statement and a powerful story for that person, but not all people react that way, not all people think that way, not all people live that way. And in saying I don't see this as a "your mileage may vary" thing, either, that person is saying that people who don't react and think and live that way should. Which is not an okay thing.
Because while I don't, myself, have any triggers that pop up in fiction often and strongly enough that I need to rely on warnings, I have come to accept that other people do. And I am familiar with the bad places a mind can go, and sometimes there is nothing good, nothing positive, nothing healing about confronting that abyss. Sometimes you don't have the resources to get in another staring contest with your own trauma. General-goes-for-some-people-but-not-all-people 'you'.
