i've always wanted to ask you this. and this seems like a very appropriate post to ask it in!

where do you get all these quotes? i remember from mcgill your journal where you would obsessively jot down info like interesting quotes, but surely you can't remember every quote that may pertain to each particular post. do you categorize potential phrases, type them up, and whip them out as needed? or do you ever google for possible ones while you're composing a post?

i never have good titles. it bothers me every damn time i post. D:

Generally, I google for a quote after writing the post, doing a search for "[word] quotes", where "word" is the main topic of the post, or general emotion, anything linked to it. (I usually end up on thinkexist.com, an excellent site.) But I also use quotes from Links of the Day, like articles or other people's posts I've read, anything that's come up and struck my fancy, or look up quote pages for particular books, TV characters or people. I do use memory lots of times, for either vague search starts ("something by EECummings") or specific quotes that've been embedded in my memory.

...it's an addiction :) I'm amazed soemtimes at how well some quotes fit. Freakishly well-fit.
