The War Games

I'm still in classic Doctor Who overkill mode. This past weekend, we watched the 2nd doctor story The War Games. Despite being ten parts, I enjoyed it. She kept responding that she ( Read more... )

I think it's just a sign of how crappy most TV is these days that you're forced to find enjoyment in shows made before you were born. :)

Zoe's a bit of an issue since really she's generically from "the future", albeit a very 1960s future.

And since you're so bored this summer I want you to grow facial hair like the War Chief or War Lord.

Oh God no. I can't imagine myself with either. Plus, I don't really grow facial hair that well. I tried a goatee a few years ago and it just didn't grow in.

I'd have to learn how to sew. I don't think it's something I could just pick up!

I just started watching the relaunched Doctor Who series one. I'm loving it so far.

That's how it started with us. After we finished watching that, we decided to watch some of the old series. Specifically, the ones with Sarah Jane Smith as companion. Which led us to watching even more of old shows. Still, we both prefer the current Dr. Who to the classic show.

I'm starting to wonder when to mix in Torchwood. Is that a show one can watch independent of Doctor Who?

I didn't really watch it until after we started with Doctor Who. Although, that's not entirely true. We tried watching it when it first came out and we both found it to be awful. But, it does get much better toward the end of the first season. It's still doesn't have the quality of Doctor Who. But, if you did start watching, I'd say mid season 3, since Jack returns then and it's a little explained in Torchwood. Although, I waited until I watched all of Dr. Who, and I didn't think it really effected the story much.
